Meet The Team
Ted Daniel’s affinity for art was instilled in him from an early age, when he grew up in New York City near Museum Mile, visiting exhibitions at the Met and the Guggenheim. He later went on to study art history in college, where art became his real passion, and he graduated with great distinction from Parsons: The New School with a BFA in Art History and Curatorial Studies.
After working in several art galleries in New York post college, Ted pivoted to commercial photography for ten years, giving him an eye and appreciation for the composition of visual works as he worked with clients like Universal Music Group and Williams Sonoma, and did editorial work for publications including New York Magazine and Time Out. He moved to Ketchum two years ago to be with his now-fiancée, a Ketchum local. He is happy to return to the art market as Sun Valley Contemporary’s Art Consultant.
Originally from Montreal, Jane studied Studio Arts in CEGEP and continued taking art history courses throughout her Bachelor's degree at McGill University. Since graduating, she's spent time painting at the Montreal Art Centre and travelling, by doing painting workaways.
Naturally drawn to art, Jane has joined our team eager to be more involved in the art world and learn from those in it.
"Art and communication are meaningful to me for similar reasons, they allow us to understand and connect with one another more deeply.”
Tara grew up on Vancouver Island and eventually landed in Vancouver to head to Business School. Craving the small town feel again, she moved up to Squamish and started working at Off Piste Fine Arts Ltd (DBA: Sun Valley Contemporary Gallery) as our COO. Bringing over 20 years of experience in luxury retail, distribution and management, she is excited to explore her new direction in the art world.
With over 35 years of experience as a gallery owner, Andria's approach is intimate; she's kept a tight roster of artists, ensuring she understands the narratives of each artwork. Andria believes in the importance of the backstory, and it's this unique perspective that's formed the core of her previous gallery's mission in Ketchum and Seattle (Friesen Gallery). Andria has graciously accepted working as an advisor for the Sun Valley Contemporary Gallery.
In 2009 Andria composed and published Speak For The Trees. A 200-page hardcover book featuring 76 important artists from around the world and poignant offerings by 70+ significant authors throughout history.
